Be Kind, Don’t Bloat [WIAW]

Today two fun packages arrived. One from my foodie pen pal Talia, and one from Amazon. The hubs fell in love with Kind bars recently, and ordered four boxes. I’ve never had one before – which one should I try first?

You’ll have to wait until April 30th to find out the contents of the foodie pen pal box, although one of the items will be eaten for dessert tonight 🙂

And for the rest of my daily meals, here is this week’s What I ate Wednesday – sneaking in more veggies…kind of.

1st breakfast – unpictured protein shake

2nd breakfast

old fashioned oats mixed with fresh blueberries, cinnamon, organic agave and vanilla almond milk.

lunch – unpictured Trader Joe’s bean and rice burrito with reduced fat sour cream and half a bell pepper for a little crisp factor.

snacks

cookie dough balance bar and a Jazz apple (my current fav!)

**interlude for an IT Band & pre-natal massage** heaven!

Dinner

A revamped incredibly easy cheeseburger pie (recipe soon) and a Hugh Jass salad with romaine, bell pepper, tomatoes, avocado, dried bing cherries and pasteurized goat cheese. The dressing was a mix of olive oil, the hubs herbs from our garden infused vinegar, sea salt, pepper and agave.

And for dessert I’ll be enjoying something out of my box, I just have to decide what.

Oh, and remember how I’ve been complaining about mentioned that I’ve not had much of a baby bump in the mornings but by mid-afternoon my bump is out in full force? I took some photographic evidence yesterday.

That is some serious bloat action. Help a girl out, what do you eat to reduce bloating? I’m drinking as much water as my bladder will allow and eat my recommended fruits and veggies…blah!

  1. bahhhh I’ve been puffy lately too! I sweat like a mofo during my workouts and in the beginning it used to be enough to keep my tummy in check but — oh no, not anymore! I think all the beans I’ve been eating are totally the culprit — and I’m certainly not stopping that habit =) I’m curious to hear everyone’s suggestions so I’ll totally be checking back! Hot bubble baths [post workout amazingness] help as well as staying super hydrated and avoiding processed foods with lots-o-salt — but sometimes i need more tips than just that!

  2. Can’t help with the bloat issue, but I want to know where you are getting your Jazz apples! We got some at the farm stand in the valley (out there for errands), but I can’t find them in town and we LOVED them.

  3. The same thing happened to me as the day went on- I think it had to do a whole lot with the muscles in the stomach relaxing. I found that there was no way to stop the end of the day baby bump becoming larger, it just became a picture of what is to come 🙂
    I guess I should try a kind bar because I’ve heard such great things. I’ll be on the lookout!

  4. oh girl. i am 100% with you. my tummy has had some serious issues lately. i can’t help you though – i am at a loss myself. but, i am totaly bookmarking you now so i can follow along with what you try! this is a serious problem for me too and i would love any ideas!

  5. I’ve had this problem for the last four mounths and I even went to a gi specialist. Problem is still not solved 😦 Recently though I have gone off any medicine I had been taking, quit eating dairy, and stopped eating after 8:00pm at night. All really helped me out!
