Last month I participated in my first foodie pen pal experience. I was really nervous about it, as previously mentioned, and was reminded today about WHY I should be nervous about giving out personal info to someone I don’t really know. This week I’m teaching personal safety to my kidlets, which includes internet safety. Woops, here I am leading a poor example! But, as previously stated, I can blog stalk my pen pal match to make sure they aren’t a Follow-You-Fiona. And just like last month, my matches this month are completely normal 🙂
This month the lovely Lindsey matched me with Miranda and Madeline over at Food, Fitness and Family. I gathered up some treats for Miranda, and after a few email exchanges Madeline packed up a box of her favorite goodies and sent them my way. After catching up on her blog I was eager to see what she might send me, she is one healthy lady!
Two-bite cinnamon rolls, Bob’s Red Mill granola, peanut butter & jelly Larabars, Cinnamon Thin cookies, Peanut Butter Balls, Gluten free pretzels, Pizza snack mix & a flavor and fiber bar.
The contents of my goodie box were PERFECT. I hadn’t tried a single product prior, which made the contents even more exciting.
Madeline sent me some products I haven’t even heard of, including this nut butter ball.
Thanks Madeline, my afternoon snacks for the week are a lot more fun than normal 🙂
Are you interested in participating in the March round of Foodie Pen Pals? If so, here is some info from Lindsey:
-On the 5th of every month, you will receive your penpal pairing via email. It will be your responsibility to contact your penpal and get their mailing address and any other information you might need like allergies or dietary restrictions.
-You will have until the 15th of the month to put your box of goodies in the mail. On the last day of the month, you will post about the goodies you received from your penpal!
-The boxes are to be filled with fun foodie things, local food items or even homemade treats! The spending limit is $15. The box must also include something written. This can be anything from a note explaining what’s in the box, to a fun recipe…use your imagination!
-You are responsible for figuring out the best way to ship your items depending on their size and how fragile they are. (Don’t forget about flat rate boxes!)
-Foodie Penpals is open to blog readers as well as bloggers. If you’re a reader and you get paired with a blogger, you are to write a short guest post for your penpal to post on their blog about what you received. If two readers are paired together, neither needs to worry about writing a post for that month.
